0800: Term male infant born at 39 weeks via repeat C-section to a mother with gestational diabetes. Apgar scores 8 at 1 minute and 9 at 5 minutes. Birth weight 4,500 grams (9 lb 14 oz). Infant is currently skin-to-skin with mother. 0900: Infant noted to be jittery during assessment. High-pitched cry noted. Respirations are slightly irregular with occasional grunting.
